Found within the Banff National Park in Alberta, the 1.88 square mile town of Banff is located in Alberta’s Rockies and has an elevation between 4,600 feet and 5,350 feet. This resort town is among the country’s most popular tourist destinations and features mountainous terrains and numerous hot springs. Tourists who come to the town usually go up to enjoy outdoor sports including hiking, biking, skiing and scrambling. Mountain bike trails and ski slopes can be found in Mount Norquay and the Banff Gondola allows visitors to ascend to Sulphur Mountain where they can also proceed to Sanson Peak. Sulphur Mountain is also home to the well-known Banff Upper Hot Springs. Other places to see in Banff are Lake Minnewanka, Tunnel Mountain and the three ski resorts in the national park: Ski Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise Mountain Resort.
