One of the largest museums in North America and the largest in Canada, the Royal Ontario Museum is home to a collection of more than 6 million artworks and attracts over 1 million visitors every year. This museum of art, natural history, and world culture found in Toronto is the second most visited art museum in the country, just next to the Montreal Museum of Art.

The Royal Ontario Museum was established in 1912, opened two years later, and has evolved into becoming the largest institution to pioneer various research and conservation activities. The large collection in the museum is divided into 40 galleries which include one for minerals and meteorites, dinosaurs, East Asia Art, Canadian history, Near Eastern and African Art, European history, and more. The museum also has a few hands-on galleries such as the CIBC Discovery Gallery, designed to be a learning zone for kids. The gallery has displays in three main areas: Close to Home, Around the World, and In the Earth.

    Royal Ontario Museum

    Even if the museum looks like a small building from outside, they have a huge collection of various artifacts. A single day is not enough to visit all the floors thoroughly if you don't start early in the morning. Paid car parking is available across the street.
